Finally got to try this place. I've been waiting for something like this in alameda since we moved here. Service: The cashier was nice. No complaints here. Food: The dogs here were pretty decent. The bread to dog ratio was perfect. The toppings were a bit much depending on which dog you order. Fries - These were the star of the meal. I got their nacho fries and it was delicious. Not healthy for you, but hey you didn't come here for healthy food right? Overall: Recommended If you want a meal that will clog your arteries but dance on your tongue, this is it.

Date: 11/10/2022 Time: 2:30 PM 62° Sunny "Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the crowd..." Baseball fans know that song, which is played during the seventh inning stretch. Left Field Dogs has that feel and the theme colors of green and yellow remind me of being at an A's game enjoying either a hot dog or a Saag's sausage sandwich. Even the employee was wearing an Oakland A's cap. The specialties: hot dogs named after some of the local baseball players. Menu board lists the various dogs and descriptions. Man, the choices made it difficult for me to decide on what I want to try first - the Dontrelle Willis, Jimmy Rollins, Ricky Henderson or Willie Stargell. Eats: the Dontrelle Willis aka D Train and the Jimmy Rollins. Both ball players are from Encinal; Dontrelle, CO'2000 and Rollins, CO'96. I had the Dontrelle - beef frank with chili, nacho cheese sauce, cheddar, jalapeño pepper and onion on a potato roll. Jimmy Rollins was a beer brat, rib eye, with grilled onion, pepper, garlic aioli and mozzarella on a French roll. Hot diggitty dog! That Dontrelle was the bomb and on point. I know the next time to nix it on the jalapeño. Then I can hardly wait to order the Ricky Henderson. Have to show some love for Ricky (CO'76), as he is from Oakland Tech, my alma mater. The Willie Stargell aka Pops is also from Encinal. I haven't forgotten the '79 World Series. We are Family. Pirates vs. Orioles. The Sammy Sosa also looks good. I love sweet pickle relish on my "dog". All them "dogs" might have me singing part of the song Atomic Dog..."bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yay". Play ball cuz ya know I'm gonna try them all. LOL.

Came here for a quick snack on the way to run some errands. This place has good hot dogs, but I wouldn't say it's mouth watering or worthy of being hyped up. Ordered the Willie Stargell - beef hot dog with ketchup, mustard, onions, and pickles (ordered without mayonnaise). Standard hot dog with good flavor. Excited to see all of the items marked as "coming soon" be available soon! Looking forward to trying more items. Miscellaneous: - Street parking is available (limited during busy hours) - There are two tables inside and one table outside for dining - The wait is about 10 minutes (there were only a few people there, so I think I got good timing)

Came here on a Friday around 3:30pm and this is before the rush of people came! It's a small local business serving up some gourmet dogs. I ordered the derek jeter and nacho fries. Both were delicious! The food took a little bit longer than expected about 20 minutes but they brought it out to me where I was sitting out front. The nacho fries were crispy and smothered in toppings. Super addictive. The derek meter was also tasty with high quality bread and a snappy dog. However I did think the bread ratio was a bit more than the dog. I'm coming back to try more of the menu!

The make your own dog was a hit for me because I'm so particular. The ingredients were extra fresh and the hotdog was crispy to the bite just like I like it. Bring your wallet the prices aren't cheap $15 for an all beef hotdog but it was like a meal all in one. They have some new things coming on the menu so watching this business grow should be fun.

On a Saturday evening, I went to go try the new "Left Field Dogs" on Webster Street in Alameda. As I approached the place, I saw a large group eating inside and a few people eating outside. I walked in, and was promptly greeted, and told that they were running out of food and would have to do substitutions. The order taker was still learning her job and had a note card in front of her. (This was only the 2nd day Left Field Dogs has been open). I ordered the "Derek Jeter" w/ an order of fries. The order taker offered me either Bratwurst or Hot Links to replace the beef hotdog. I went with Bratwurst. The Derek Jeter comes with grilled onions, brown mustard, kraut, on a thick french roll. I was told my takeout order would take up to 15-mins to prepare. I walked in 15-mins later and my order was ready. Things to know- - card payment only. No cash accepted. - No parking lot, that lot in back belongs to the hotel. How was the food? This is no ordinary hotdog. The Derek Jeter is like a gourmet fancy dressed hotdog that's worth the $10 price. That bratwurst was buried in grilled onions, kraut, and spicy brown mustard. Don't worry, the thick french roll will hold up to the weight of the meat and the toppings. The $5 serving of fries was equal to about a medium fries, which makes them a little pricey. They were crispy and lightly salted. Next time I'll pass on the fries. The hotdog alone was very filling. I didn't order a beer, so I don't know anything about that. The menu just says "On Tap $8." Would I come back? YES, I hope they get better at stocking up so they don't run out of food. You don't want to lose any customers! Left Field Dogs is at 1606 Webster St, across from the Shell gas station.
